This lesson activity can be used with KS3, KS4 or KS5 Design and Technology students as an introduction to anthropometric data. The task could be used as a stand alone activity or linked to project work involving the design of a product with an ergonomic handle as it supports primary research into hand sizes. This task also supports the development of mathematical skills, as it shows students how to work out the median, mean, mode and range when analysing anthropometric data.
